I was never asked before the process began if I had money to pay for the inspection, appraisal, earnest money, or closing costs. These costs should be explained to people before they even apply for a mortgage.

This was the second home I've purchased through VU, and they excelled both times. Nick, Nico, and Maria were professional, well informed, and helped us navigate the process with zero stress. I will call them again if I buy another home.

My loan team was courteous but they lacked attention to detail with my closing resulting in a very tense 24 hours prior to my closing. They failed to read my initial contract and instead of me receiving 2400 back at closing I ended up having to pay 1600 which my team then credited my loan so that at closing I did not have to pay that amount which could have been avoided if they were meticulous looking though the initial builder contract and all of the addendum included with the contract. Jeremy in particular seemed to always be out of sorts. They had the wrong realtor information for most of the process when my realtors information was on my contract as well. He sent incorrect information through email as well and stated it was just a template and didnt mean to send it to me. I just felt his professionalism was lacking and then at the last hour it came back to bite me in the rear. I wished they read all the documents and went through them with a fine tooth comb before making false promises and guarantees then less than 24 hours before closing then catching a mistake that should have been caught on the first day.
