Initially communication was very good. Then about 3 weeks into the process, it significantly declined. We never felt like we never knew what was happening in the process and there were countless times we would call and ask questions and either never received a call back or never received an answer.
As a first time home buyer, I went through a rollercoaster of emotions throughout this process. Lance Hopper and his team went out of their way to make sure I knew what to expect through the process. I even had a family emergency during this process that put things on pause. The first thing that Lance said to me was take care of family and we'll still be here. Throughout this process, I did not just feel like another number with Veterans United. As a Marine, I have always had a mentality of "get things done"....but with Veterans United, they made sure I was prepared for the whole process.
Bought our first home with Aaron, Jenny, Cara, and Kayla's assistance (sorry if I'm leaving someone out). That's a pretty special thing! We are thrilled.

I want to emphasize that Garet was very responsive. However, the underwriting department and coordination left something to be desired. We were repeatedly asked for things we had already submitted and had to FIGHT for the house to have the correct city listed. The house DOES have a shared zip code, but being the people who live her, we KNOW the correct village/city. My wife has experience in business and mail beiing returned if the correct city is not listed. Yet we had to fight that.
Everyone on this team was so helpful walking us through this system making it as comfortable as possible, even when glitches happen not their fault., they were patient and so helpful. They truly care about veterans in my opinion. Thanks.
